Creating amazing experiences recognizing D2 Small Gyms, Youth and Competitive Rec Programs!

This cancellation policy is designed to be fair and transparent for all participants.

  1. Team Withdrawal within 30 days of an Event:

If a program withdraws a team or multiple teams within 30 days of a scheduled event, the program will receive a 50% credit toward a future event. This credit is applicable regardless of the reason for the withdrawal, which includes, but is not limited to, athlete or coach sickness, injury, or absence. This policy helps us manage event logistics and costs that are committed in advance, such as venue fees, staffing, and awards.

  1. Required Cancellation Notification:

To be eligible for the 50% credit, all cancellations must be formally submitted in writing. The email must come from the gym owner and clearly state the name of the program, the event name, and the specific team(s) being withdrawn.

  1. Credit Application and Validity:

The 50% credit will be applied to the program’s account and can be used for any future event registration with the D2 Takeover and Freedom Spirit. This credit expires after 1 competition season. The credit holds no cash value and cannot be exchanged for a refund.

  1. No-Shows

Any team that does not provide a formal cancellation notification as outlined in section 2 and does not attend the event will be considered a “no-show” and will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

For any questions regarding this policy, please contact us at info@freedomspiritchampionships.com.

We appreciate your understanding as it allows us to effectively plan and execute memorable experiences for all attendees.

Weather-Related/Inclement Weather Policy- Cancellation and Credit Policy

Athlete safety well-being is a top priority at all of our events.  In the event of inclement weather, we reserves the right to make decisions regarding the event schedule, including delays, modifications, or cancellation.

  1. Event Proceeding as Scheduled if we as directors determine that the event can proceed safely, but a program is unable to attend due to localized (act of God) or inclement weather-state emergency, government shutdown or imposed shutdown/lockdown etc.. in their area (e.g., snowstorm, flooding, road closures), that program will receive a 50% credit toward a future event.  The credit has a 1 year expiration date and can be applied at any time.  The credit holds no cash value and cannot be exchanged for a refund.

This policy is in place to account for costs already incurred by in the production of the event, such as venue fees and general operational expenses.

  1. Communication of Weather-Related Changes will be communicated thru the following:
  2. D2 Takeover and Freedom Spirit website
  3. Official social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
  4. Email notifications to the registered program’s primary contact

Every effort will be made to communicate any and all changes in a timely manner. We recommend that all teams monitor these channels closely on the day of and in the days leading up to the event.

  1. If we are forced to cancel the entire event due to severe and widespread inclement weather (e.g., a state of emergency, a named storm, or a weather event that makes the venue and travel unsafe for the majority of participants), a different policy will apply.
  2. In this scenario, all registered teams will receive full credit of 100% of their registration fees to be applied to a future event.
  3. We will do our best to reschedule the event if possible. If a rescheduling date is not feasible, the credit can be used for any future event.
  4. Team Discretion: Ultimately, the decision to travel and attend the event is at the discretion of the individual program. While we will make every effort to provide a safe environment, programs should assess their own local travel conditions before departing. A program’s decision not to attend due to localized weather, even if the event proceeds, will be subject to the 50% credit policy outlined in the 1st
  5. Liability: Freedom Spirit, D2 Takeover assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred by programs, including but not limited to travel, lodging, or other expenses, in the event of a cancellation, delay, or if a program chooses not to attend due to weather.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure the safety and success of all our events.
